Checks in the Mail

Manifesting Success Story ~

After watching “The Secret” awhile back, I’ve been manifesting something fun - namely, I want to receive checks in the mail.  Who cares where they come from, I just want them.  A day or so after pondering this idea from “The Secret,” I got a phone call from my health insurance rep. who I haven’t spoken to in almost 5 years.  Long story short, he called to suggest I change my monthly plan because rates were going up.  The call was simple enough and to the point, but for no reason at all, he brought up a policy regarding women’s preventative care and how insurance is obligated to pay for it every year.

Funny thing was, I already knew about the policy, but back in 2004 I was denied insurance coverage for that exact thing even after I called my doctor to question the bill.  So I told him that.  He told me to fax over the paperwork (it pays to be organized and keep files) and a few days later he called me back to tell me that the doctor’s office had mis-coded my visit and my insurance company was paying the full amount.  Then he said, “you will receive a check in the mail from your doctor.”

Well low and behold, it came today!  Here is a pic of the FIRST, but definitely not the last, of thousands of checks that I “receive in the mail.”  And yes, it really took them 30 days to mail it to me.

Wahoo!

Let’s face it, a doctor visit from 2004 being reimbursed in 2007…that’s just plain MANIFESTING.  :)

*Additional manifesting: I receive checks in the mail AND I receive money online.

Sometimes we fail…

Posted in Updates at 4:05 pm by Amy656

I happen to fail at quitting my part-time job.  Today was my 2nd attempt in the last 6 weeks and I failed.  Again.  How does one fail something so simple?  I have no idea, but I’m apparently becoming good at it.  So now, I have to start over (for the third time) and manifest the ability to quit my part-time job in a REAL manner so that I don’t have to go back.

The problem may be that I like the job.  The issue isn’t the job, it’s the pay and the time it takes away from me making more pay elsewhere ~ either at the lawyer’s office or giving readings.

The funny thing is, I don’t feel like a failure and have already laughed at myself.  This is a good reminder for me to get my “intentions,” “wants” and “actions” in line with each other and remember that it’s OK to go back to the drawing board and start over.

Now I have to go update my calendar with my work schedule… *sigh*

Here is a pictoral story about the drive from DC to Denver.

We, (my friend Kara and I) started in McLean, Virginia (right outside DC) on Saturday afternoon.  Kara is very happy as you can see ~ I want to get her permission before I go posting her pic all over my heavily visited (not) site where tons of people meander - *tumbleweed blows by*  That’s me on the passenger side.

leaving DC

We stopped somewhere a little east of Indianapolis and got a hotel.  This is what we discovered when we woke up Sunday morning (day 2):

eegads!

So after some scraping and advice from some guys who called themselves “hillbillies,” we ventured onto highway in this…

snowstorm

Luckily, we’re from Chicago and know how to drive in the snow.  Kara tackled this part of the trip and did an excellent job.  Once in Illinois, we lost interest in taking pictures and the roads cleared up.

Some 11 hours later, after zooming through Kansas City, we stopped in Junction City, Kansas and got another hotel.  This is a picture of Kansas City - squiggly style:

The third day started, consisted of, and ended up with a view like this…

Kansas/Colorado

…the great, flat state of Kansas, which blurred into the great, flat eastern part of Colorado.  I’m not entirely sure if this is Kansas or Colorado, but about 400 miles looked exactly like this.

We didn’t get a picture when we arrived because we were too eager to sprawl out and unpack.  We arrived in Denver Monday afternoon, just in time for new, thrilling episodes of 24 and Heros.   :)

Fluffy Socks

Posted in Updates at 8:52 pm by Amy656

The one thing I’m most thankful for right now is the assortment of fluffy, super soft socks that I’ve accumulated because my feet feel like they are on little clouds.  The other thing I am thankful for is a new start to a new schedule (while wearing the aforementioned fluffy socks).

The drive was easier than expected and even though I’m tired, I am looking forward to the “next” thing which is Tokyo!  With exactly one month before I leave, I have lots to manifest and lots to be thankful for.

My plan tonight is to relax, make some tea and write out a new list.  Between now and my trip to Tokyo, I manifest plenty of time to get everything done, an abundance of money and supplies for the trip and my bills, and an abundance of fun and excitement with new and old friends.

Hi ho, hi ho, to Denver we must go

Posted in Updates at 9:13 pm by Amy656

So… the 1600 mile drive from DC to Denver begins tomorrow and I’m in the midst of packing and storing snack food like a squirrel planning for the big cold-freeze.  Now, the drive is long enough on its own, but due to recent weather patterns and storms, it should be even more thrilling as we drive INTO the storm.

Enough whining (I seem to be doing a lot of that recently) and on to the manifesting!  I manifest an easy, comfortable, fun drive from DC to Denver and to feel relaxed, refreshed, and peaceful when it’s over.

Catch you next week!

Weekend Bliss

Posted in Updates at 2:58 am by Amy656

Now that my hectic week is over, I can relax and do NOTHING (which is how I spent most of my day today).  Well, that’s not true… I paid my taxes, worked some, and spent quality time with my friend who is visiting from Denver.  But, today has been much more relaxing than any day earlier this week and for that, I am very thankful.

Speaking of Denver… my friend and I will be driving from D.C. to Denver starting next Saturday and then I will be flying home.  Sometimes I really like road trips and I’ve decided that this one is going to be fantastic!

And on another fun, travel-related note, I’ve begun preparations and what not for my upcoming trip to Tokyo in February.  I’m very excited as I am going to see a concert of one of my favorite Japanese singers!  I’m manifesting a fantastic trip with ease of travel, clear communication, and plenty of energy to keep me going.  This trip will also be a test of the three full years of Japanese I’ve been learning.  My friend Hal has been very helpful in planning my trip as he is Japanese and speaks/reads the language in a way that I cannot.  Arigatou Hal!  :)
